MEMS-based diezel nozzles
We are using MEMS technologies to produce diesel injector nozzles with precision holes on the order of 40 microns in diameter. The goal is to produce smaller droplet sizes and thus reduce emissions. Details are in the paper from the link below. This work is led by Professor Corradini here at UW.
